Even what may initially look like a minor collision, may in fact result in serious injuries. People who have been involved in an auto collision do not experience pain immediately following a collision. More often than not, it’s not until the next morning that their injuries are fully realized, when the swelling and discomfort set in. It is important that a person seek medical treatment immediately upon realizing that they were injured.
Other times, the pain and suffering are immediately realized upon impact, and in the event emergency medical personnel respond, do not hesitate to seek medical treatment. Shortly following a collision is also typically the time in which an insurance company representative will attempt to obtain a statement. I highly recommend consulting with an attorney (whether through our office – or even other legal counsel) prior to giving a statement to an insurance company. Giving a statement while feeling pain, discomfort, the stress of possibly losing your vehicle, and possibly an inability to work to support you and your family, will likely not result in a statement that provides a clear reflection of the collision you just experienced. Eventually, there will be a time to tell your side of the story. If my office represents you, we will be your voice during the claims process and litigation.
Our Clients Have Spoken
"Chris Sloan is a wonderful personal injury attorney. Chris has no issues working with not only my insurance company, but also the insurance company of the driver that struck my car. Chris and his staff fought to get me not only the best treatment, but also the best offer based on my injuries and the damage to my vehicle. Chris and his staff are knowledgeable and caring, during what was a very stressful and difficult time for me and my family. There is only one person that I would trust to handle my personal injury case, and that is Chris Sloan." - A.W.
